Cash Runway Charts That Boards Trust

Boards in mid-sized Thai enterprises rarely need every ledger line. They need to know how many months of committed cash remain under the definitions lenders and directors already agreed. A trustworthy runway chart therefore starts with covenant language, not with a favourite colour palette.
Begin by writing the cash definition in one sentence at the top of the page. Then show a single horizontal strip: opening cash, known outflows, known inflows, and a shaded buffer for items still under negotiation. Annotate the two or three assumptions that move the ending balance by more than five percent.
Avoid stacking twelve departmental bars beside the runway. Those belong in an appendix. Directors lose the story when the primary page competes with itself. If your FP&A team still closes in workbooks, export a reconciled extract once, freeze the date stamp, and chart from that freeze—never from a live sheet that changes mid-meeting.
Mind Beaconcore uses this pattern in financial planning dashboard commissions across Bangkok. The visual is quiet on purpose: one strip, clear footnotes, and a next-action note for the CFO.
